MacKinnon JB

J.B. MacKinnon is the author of The Once and Future World, which won the 2014 Green Prize for Sustainable Literature and is a Canadian bestseller. Previous books include The 100-Mile Diet (with co-author Alisa Smith), a bestseller widely credited with helping to spark the local foods movement, and Dead Man in Paradise, which won Canada’s highest prize for literary nonfiction. As a journalist, MacKinnon has done feature writing for The New Yorker, National Geographic, Reader’s DigestOrion, and many other publications, appeared in the Best American Science and Nature Writing anthology, and won nearly a dozen National Magazine Awards in categories from travel to essays to sports. He also works in interactive multimedia, including international award-winning projects for the CBC and National Film Board. He lives in Vancouver, B.C.
