Casarett DavidDr. David Casarett is a physician, researcher, and tenured Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, one of the country’s top medical schools. He is the author of Stoned: A Doctor’s Case for Medical Marijuana, Shocked: Adventures In Bringing Back The Recently Dead, and Last Acts: Discovering Possibility and Opportunity at the End of Life, published by Simon & Schuster in 2010.

Casarett’s studies have included more than 10,000 patients and their family members. Those studies have resulted in more than 100 articles and book chapters, and his work has been published in leading academic medical journals, including Journal of the American Medical Association, The British Medical Journal, The Annals of Internal Medicine, and The New England Journal of Medicine.
