Anton Piatigorsky is a playwright, novelist and librettist. He has twice won the Dora Mavor Moore award for best new play, and was the recipient of the 2005 Elinore and Lou Siminovitch Protégé Award for playwrighting. His play Eternal Hydra was called “one of the best Canadian plays of the past decade” by NOW magazine, and has been published by Coach House Books. Airline Icarus, a chamber opera of his libretto with composer Brian Current, won the Italian Primo Fedora Award in 2011. He was born and raised in the Washington DC area, studied at Brown University, and now lives with his family in Toronto.
