Mark Lavorato was raised on the Canadian prairies but spent most of his adult life abroad, living and working in various countries throughout Central and North America, the Caribbean, and Europe. He has often returned to Canada for the summer months to run wilderness expeditions for Outward Bound, and is currently based in Montreal.
In addition to fiction Mark also writes poetry. His book of poems, Wayworn Wooden Floors (The Porcupine’s Quill) was shortlisted for the Raymond Souster Award, which honours the late Raymond Souster, an early founder of the League of Canadian Poets.
